Is iFlex Wood Products a brand? Yes. There are other brands in the USA that offer the same product from manufacturers in Europe and the different moulds and trims are set by these manufacturers who supply multiple brands.  The only difference is the trademark name filed for that brand.

Is iFlex Wood Products affordable?  Yes, iFlex Wood Products’ prices are, at minimum, 15% lower than competitive brands.

What is iFlex Wood Products made of?  iFlex Wood Products are made of wood with some resin added that allows the wood to flex when heated.

Do iFlex Wood Products contain harsh chemicals?  No.  It is recommended to not heat iFlex Wood Products above 275 degrees, but each griddle is different, so test yours.  I keep my griddle at 200 degrees.  If there is any smell or smoke, then the heat source is too hot, and the mould or trim may scorch or burn.  Do not leave your iFlex Wood Products on the griddle unattended.

Do iFlex Wood Products break easily? No.  However, iFlex Wood Products are made to flex only when pliable after heating with a griddle or heat gun, so never try to flex the moulds or trims until heated.  However, should you accidently break a piece, it’s an easy fix because iFlex Wood Products can be reheated to mend any break; just heat and glue it back together.

Are iFlex Wood Products easy to apply? Yes.  The possibility of applying iFlex Wood Products are unlimited and the reusability is amazing.  You can reheat pieces and use them over and over.

What kind of glue is best for iFlex Wood Products and how long does it take to dry?  Any premium good wood glue will do.  I happen to use either Titebond or Gorilla Wood Glue and the adhesion is secure within minutes, just apply a little pressure to all areas of the mould or trim.

Do you apply iFlex Wood Products before painting?  It is recommended to heat and apply prior to painting because it depends on the coatings in the paint and whether it will hold up to the heat, so you should always do a test.  I apply the moulds or trims either before or after painting depending on the project because I know the heat will not have any adverse reaction when using the griddle or heat gun. DIY Paint is an all-natural paint with no coatings or binders. DIY Paint is ideal when using iFlex Wood Products because it is clay-based.

What are some of the applications for iFlex Wood Products? - This unfinished wooden embellishment can be used on any surface such as wood, glass, plastic, MDF. Looks fabulous on furniture! You can use with scrapbooking crafts, multi-media projects and more.

iFlex Wood Products Instructions from Van Gossen Distributors

INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE BELOW INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING iFLEX WOOD PRODUCTS. iFlex Wood Products are designed to be extremely user-friendly, provided that a few simple steps are followed. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BEND iFLEX WOOD PRODUCTS WITHOUT HEATING FIRST! DO NOT SUBMERGE IN WATER.

1) HEAT the piece with a heat gun/blow dryer or place on griddle (no higher than 275 degrees) until it becomes flexible. This allows the decorative piece to adhere to the project surface by increasing contact points of the glue in Step 2.

2) Spread a thin, even layer of adhesive, such as wood glue, to the entire back surface. It is important to be thorough so that small, detailed parts of the molding will be properly adhered to the project piece.

3) Gently press the iFlex Wood Products molding against the project piece. Continue applying mild pressure until the adhesive begins to set and the iFlex Wood Products molding remains in place on its own. Press all parts of the iFlex Wood Products molding against the piece to ensure a complete bond. If needed, reapply heat intermittently to retain flexibility. That’s it! Once the glue has properly dried, the piece is ready for paint, stain, or other decorative finish enhancements.

If desired, paint or stain may be applied before iFlex Wood Products moldings are applied to a piece, but caution must be used to avoid issues like bubbling and cracking in the coating while the iFlex Wood Products molding is being heated and formed to the piece.

CAUTION: iFlex Wood Products are fragile and may break if not handled with care. If a break occurs, heat with heat gun or blow dryer then apply a small amount of wood glue to the broken surfaces and press back together.

Once glue has dried, gently sand if needed to smooth surface with 320 grit sandpaper, and the piece can then be used normally following the instructions above.
